The Super Bowl has become much more than crowning the world champions of professional football. It has grown to serve as a platform for parties, advertising and entertainment. For the 2009 Super Bowl, companies ponied up $3 million to showcase their top products to more than 1 billion viewers world wide in 30-second commercials. Those same viewers, who gathered around the TV, seemed to be just as interested in what was happening between plays as they were about first downs and touchdowns.
