As casino’s push their efforts for supports in Ohio’s four major cities, voters are currently in favor of new casino properties. Ohio voters support a statewide ballot measure that would allow four casinos to be built in the state’s largest cities, a Columbus Dispatch/Ohio Newspaper Poll showed Sunday. The election will be held Nov. 3.Ohio voters currently favor Issue 3 by 57 percent to 39 percent, with 4 percent undecided. That compares with 59 percent for and 38 percent against a month ago.

Spending $31.7 million dollars in funds to promote casino business, the Ohio Jobs and Growth Committee’s main goal is to get voters to approve of casino construction for Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Toledo.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pro-casino group in Ohio reports it has spent nearly $32 million promoting a fall ballot issue that would authorize casinos in the state’s four largest cities.

The owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers,Dan Gilbert, is pushing for the State Issue 3, which would allow him and his partners to build casinos in four Ohio cities. 

While he doesn’t believe that the casinos would be a “cure all” for the state’s economic issues, he does believe that the casinos would be a great asset to the economy.  He proposes to build casinos in the downtown areas of Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Toledo.
