Aria ready for Ivey Room debut

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — So how much money do you have to gamble to have your name placed on the room that houses the highest-limit poker table inside the Strip’s newest and most expensive hotel-casino?

Aria President Bill McBeath isn’t saying.

But clearly when the name of poker superstar Phil Ivey is attached to a nine-seat table, we’re not talking penny ante.

CityCenter’s Aria has taken the exclusive high-limit poker table area and named it “The Ivey Room” after someone many people consider the world’s best poker player.

License Backed For CityCenter Casino

city-centerThe CityCenter project raises questions about Aria, CityCenter’s casino, $1.2 billion in revenue in 2010. CityCenter’s main goal was to create an environment for the people and without the casino, that would be impossible.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Gaming regulators on Friday granted preliminary licensing approval for the only casino component inside the $8.5 billion CityCenter project and suggested the revenue mix might be sharply different from the traditional gaming-driven environment.

MGM Mirage Announces Name of City Center’s Centerpiece Resort

city_center_aria.jpg(Las Vegas Gaming Wire)- MGM Mirage on Monday officially revealed the name of CityCenter’s 61-story, 4,004-room centerpiece resort: Aria. Designed by noted architectural firm Pelli Clarke Pelli, Aria’s two curved glass hotel towers and its 150,000-square-foot casino space are expected to open in December 2009.
