Gambling ‘Robin Hood’ Wants to Help Needy Family

robinhood(MYFOX NATIONAL) – In these tough economic times, many families are facing unique financial challenges. And a modern-day Robin Hood wants to help.

The man who goes by “RobinHood702″ is a high-stakes blackjack player in Las Vegas who last year helped one family whose daughter’s battle with brain cancer put them $35,000 in debt. Now RobinHood702 wants to help another family.

“I’m looking for anyone that’s in debt … that needs some help,” he told Fox News . “I’m going to look for the story that’s really going to touch my heart. That’s it.”

The anonymous gambler is inviting people to share their stories on his Web site and plans to pick a lucky family sometime in the next two months.

”I’m going to look for the story that’s really going to touch my heart,” RobinHood702 said. “I have gone through a rough year myself, through personal tragedies in my family and financial difficulties, so I know what it’s like. But you know what? I’m still here and I still want to help a family, period. Nothing is ever easy for anyone, and I know that full well.”

Last year, RobinHood flew Kurt, Megan and Madison Kegler to Las Vegas first class, put them up in a luxurious hotel, treated them to expensive restaurants and spa treatments, and gave them $35,000 in cash to help them get out of debt.

This year RobinHood702 is being joined by Dr. Richard Schultze, a friend who said he was inspired by the Keglers’ story, who will help out a second family. He said he’s prepared to give “thirty, forty, fifty thousand dollars” to the family he chooses. “Whatever they need to save their home, to get out of debt, to get out of bankruptcy, I want to help someone out.”

Those hoping to get help from RobinHood and Dr. Schultze have posted their stories, videos and photos on RobinHood702’s Web site .

Hello Mr. Robinhood, I am 58yrs old and I have been disabled since 2004. I am on a fixed income. I live in a small 2bedroom house. The house is in a very bad area of old town. This house has been broken into once. I have a bad heart and many other disabling conditions. I have a significant other in my life and he does the best he can do. He has been working a full time job. He doesn’t make much at all. The old house we live in has many problems; such as sewage blockage; bad wiring; electrical problems; Cracks in the corners of the walls; rodents etc. My complaining doesn’t get any positive response. My partner tried to purchase a home for us. But we did not have the money for down payment or closing cost. If we could only get the money we could live confortable. So we are settling for this trap of a home. Would you please consider helping us to buy our home? I pray for a home before I leave this world and I give it to God to handle. But a friend of mine told me to write to you. So that’s why I am asking for $10,000 dollars to pay off debts and buy a home. Please let me know if you would help me? Thank you for reading my story.
    G. Malone

I am Native American. My oldest son was in a car accident five years ago and now resides in a brain injury unit in Caronbondale Illinois. I can not ever afford to go to see him, and wish for him to come home. I talk to him on the phone though often. I work for Peace. Have been initiating a Peace event for over 15 years, volunteer. I can tell you more, but I dont want to advertise it on here, but will let you know in private. I have 5 acres gifted to me on my rez by a cousin that said if I needed to, to find a home for my son to bring him home. Right now, I live in a very small 3 bedroom trailer, sharing with 5 other people. I guess my dream is to get a home on that 5 acres and make a home, make a garden to survive, dry meat, be happy…. even a loan, if I go home I can get a job! thanks Paula
